To understand how transferences in the analytic relationship can express defenses that arose in life in ways that shape current relationships.
To understand how transferences in the object relational mode repeat pathogenic experiences with differentiated other people in the analytic relationship.
To understand how transferences in the anaclitic mode repeat the experiences of unmet maturational needs in the analytic relationship in a way that allows them to be met symbolically in the present.
